Home, home on the range

I know I promised some apartment photos soon, but I keep putting it off. Something about the place feels not quite… done. It's not just those few frames that have to be hung or the fact that I *still* can't fit my wardrobe into the available wardrobe space. I just can't put my finger on it. And so, you just might have to wait until it feels right. Or until I give up, whichever comes first.

In the meantime, I *am* feeling very inspired by these snaps across the web. Both pics above are of Kim's own decorating project on desire to inspire. This isn't a style I might have expected to swoon over, but I love, love, love that pile of rainbow-colored bargello pillows, which she finds on ebay. Such fantastic colors and detail.

Also: Maps! This polka-dot room, via Black Eiffel is very cute, but I especially love the oversized map. Maps are generally pretty inexpensive, yet a really good one can look as great as a piece of art on the wall. I've got a couple of unusual graphic-y ones that I haven't been able to fit into our apartment, but maybe I should.

PS) If you're in the market for a new, mid-century-ish sofa, this Corona model, on sale for $650 at Macy's, seems like a very good deal.

This is perfect. I have been searching for a sofa for 2 months. I saw the first photo and thought, "that's a great sofa" and then you post the sofa at the bottom. Perfect!

Thank you, thank you!

SO many things to say...

First, LUUURVE your site. I just came across it today by way of Karey at mackin ink, and hope it's ok that I add you to my blogroll!

Second, I was so excited to come across the tidbit about your Calvin Klein Tassie flats, because I have been on the hunt for some REALLY comfy (but chic) walking flats for my upcoming Paris trip! These might be the ones... do you think they could handle it? I vowed to find something deliciously comfortable after a fiasco that happened all-over-Boston in my favorite pair of Michael Kors flats. Yikes.

Also, love your grey and yellow ensemble... definitely one of my favorite color combos at the moment!

Thanks for writing about amazingly fashionable, vintage, and UNIQUE outfits... can't wait to read the archives and make this one of my daily stops!

love that couch but when i went to check it out at the macy's furniture store last night, it's so not as nice as it looks online. i don't know how it still garnered such good reviews though!!! it definitely was not as plush and sturdy looking. my ass hit the springs when i sat on it too!

I'd love to see pics of your home! I imagine your stylish flair translates nicely to interiors. I wish, wish, wish I had an available wall for a big ol' vintage map. Maybe things need changing around..
