Shanghai Style Icon: Zhang Da
I just came across this somewhat recent piece on one of my favorite Chinese designers, the Shanghai-based Zhang Da. I own a couple of amazing Zhang Da pieces, purchased at Shanghai emporium Younik several years ago. He is becoming increasingly well-known for his innovative draping and the unexpected, often edgy touches that really set his designs apart. Really fantastic stuff.
I can be frustratingly difficult to find up-to-date info online about many Asian designers, so enjoy these little snippets.

I read your Tokyo shopping guide and I'm planning a trip to Japan in May.
Do you have any recommendations for websites for travel info to Japan? Like train info etc.

LOVE. the draping is gorgeous! they look so parisian, and since i secretly wish i were french, i love love them.

I own several pieces (one of which, I bought maybe two years ago and have never worn!)
I often go to a shop that stocks a range of interesting Shanghai-based designers, one of whom, is Zhang Da.
I invariably was drawn to his clothing!
