But men can't be trusted with these decisions! Re: Polly Magoo - i think the DVD turns up on ebay sometimes but it's not listed at the moment - I saw a screening of it at a fashion film festival here in London. I posted about it here: http://lolaisbeauty.blogspot.com/2006/05/qui-etes-vous-william-klein.html if you get your hands on a copy let me know- I'd love to buy it too. Just so 60's mod, cool, ridiculous satire - love it!
now it is true that mike is somwhat more design-oriented than the average boy, and luckily we share an affection for all things mid-century modern. but even he can't keep up with my constant need for design talk, particularly fashion-related topics. i don't have many fashion-focused friends over here to sit around and discuss booties with over here, so mike has had to assume that role, slightly reluctantly.
in fact! just the other day, i said to him, "please nod along for a few minutes because i really want to talk a little about my current fashion state-of-mind" and -- bless him -- he did.
Ms. Spinach is a writer, photoblogger and unapologetic overspender who has lived in New York City, Beijing and Singapore and is now shopping her way around Washington, D.C. Fashion is Spinach dot com is her blog focusing on interesting design, quirky finds and personal style—just like its namesake book. Sort of.
We borrowed the title Fashion is Spinach from the amazing 1938 book by American fashion designer Elizabeth Hawes, who hated the concept of ubiquitous "fashion" trends (as much as she hated spinach, apparently) and fully supported the idea of seasonless personal style. So do we, so it works out just perfectly.
And Just So You Know
No products, brands or stores endorsed in this site's content are advertisements or paid promotions, unless clearly stated. Yes, I really do shop that much.

i dunno about this. i might even be so bold as to call bullshit on it. mike is always "vetoing" things. he seems pretty design-oriented to moi!
