Mike just handed me this cartoon, from the July 10 & 17 issue of the New Yorker, which pretty much captures us perfectly.

now it is true that mike is somwhat more design-oriented than the average boy, and luckily we share an affection for all things mid-century modern. but even he can't keep up with my constant need for design talk, particularly fashion-related topics. i don't have many fashion-focused friends over here to sit around and discuss booties with over here, so mike has had to assume that role, slightly reluctantly.

in fact! just the other day, i said to him, "please nod along for a few minutes because i really want to talk a little about my current fashion state-of-mind" and -- bless him -- he did.; 6:57 AM
