In New York a few weeks ago, I walked by the Soho J. Crew—and its adorably arranged Crewcuts window—almost every day. It's just the cutest, I-would-totally-wear-that stuff—but right now, I'm most obsessed with this slightly poufy velvet and tulle Natasha skirt (center). If I wasn't nearly six feet tall, I would so be trying my best to squeeze into the girls' XXL. Yes, please!

Omigosh, that skirt is the cutest! I think I'd actually whip out my sewing machine to make that. Looks simple enough.
velvet miniskirt! rock it. anyway, i suspect we'll be seeing a ton more of both materials this season and especially for the winter.
there is just something about an insanely prepper-upper east-side-private-school-child that causes you to not be able to hold back your jealousy at their chicness. does that even make sense?
I just bought a similar skirt from Anthropologie. It isn't velvet, but it does pouf out, it is that color, and most importantly, it has a big bow:)

I love the Crewcuts line, but $98 on a velvet skirt for a little girl? Unless you only let her wear it on a very special occasion, and scotchguard the heck out of it (and can make it a hand-me-down for another little girl) it seems like a lot of money for something that will be outgrown quickly if it doesn't get sticky and dirty first! Or am I just out of the loop and that's the kind of money that kid's clothes are going for these days?!
I love Crewcuts - seriously, half of my mind tells me it's cuter than the adult stuff...
